Road Resurfacing

Fall, 2016 Road Resurfacing

The Longmeadow Public Works Department has contracted Palmer Paving to resurface the following streets:

Brooks Circle, Churchill Drive, Hilltop Road, Wimbleton Drive, Odierna Drive, Tanglewood Drive, and Woodsley Road

The work is scheduled to start on Brooks Circle October 25th and proceed in the order listed above.  This project is projected to be completed in approximately one month, weather permitting. The construction process consists of:

  1. Replacement of storm drains catch basins;
  2. Milling of the existing road surface;
  3. Adjustment of road surface & utility infrastructure;
  4. Final resurfacing.

All disturbances to private property will be restored.

Lawn Sprinklers: In an effort to reduce damages to lawn irrigation systems, please mark irrigation lines and sprinkler heads located by the edge of the roadway. Flags to mark irrigation lines and heads are available at the Department of Public Works.Should there be any damage to the marked irrigation; the Town’s contractor will make the necessary repairs. The contractor will make every effort to avoid your irrigation systems. Damage to unmarked irrigation systems will not be repaired by the Town.

In an effort to facilitate weekly refuse collection, residents are asked to have their refuse and recycling curbside by 7:00 am, especially during the time period that construction work is taking place on your street.

We will make every effort to notify residents of any schedule changes.  Please check the Town Facebook page for current updates. We realize that this work may cause some inconvenience to residents, but hope you will bear with us as we improve our Town’s infrastructure. To report any problems or concerns, please contact the Engineering Department at (413) 567-3400.

Please check back in the spring to view new and upcoming pavement work.
