Activities


Embark upon a journey through the Arctic and Antarctic regions to learn about the captivating lives of penguins, polar bears, and other cold-weather creatures.  In this fun, art-packed series, art explorers equipped with a myriad of unique materials, tools, and techniques set out on an adventure across frozen tundras to discover life in and around the icy waters of the earth's poles.  Sculpt clay polar bears and penguin reliefs.  Build sand castle light houses and create beautiful decoupaged sea horses. Paint sharks or fish on canvas panels.  Design hats as colorful as the Northern Lights and transform plain t-shirts into oceans teeming with creatures.  Explore the art of collage, fabric art, sculpting, and so much more while learning fun facts about endangered creatures and the importance of being kind to our earth and oceans.  Don't miss the Art-rageous fun!  Supervision will be provided from 2:45-3pm.

Superhero Art Explorers: Saving Planet Earth, Grades K-4

Superhero girls and boys soar off on a top-secret mission to save planet Earth using the most important superpower of all: imagination!  Like Powerpuffs and Spider Boys, we'll design our own superhero masks, shields, and capes to protect our secret identities, and even build superhero sidekicks to accompany us as we save the world.  Create recycled pots, build secret comic book boxes, and design colorful onomatopoeia drawings.  During these fun and resourceful art experiences, Super Art Heroes create a variety of AMAZING and original works of art using natural, recycled and unconventional art forms and techniques.  Color ceramic super hero banks and explore the art of printmaking while designing bubble wrap t-shirts.  Both girls and boys will have a blast as members of the League of Super Art Heroes, saving the Earth with exciting and environmentally-conscious masterpieces.

Where the Wild Things Art, Grades K-4

Art adventurers explore many whimsical and original art forms and techniques, discovering clay and collage, painting and drawing, mask making and decorating, just to name a few!  Sculpt colorful monsters and clay pots, design ceramic robots, decorate birdhouses and wooden guitars, create tape resist t-shirts and so much more.  Plus, hear wonderful stories, such as "Where the Wild Things Are" and "Nova the Robot", each relating to a work of art.  (A little literacy education in disguise). Humor and surprises are always included.  Explore, experiment, create. Art adventures bring home awesome works of art each week!  So much FUN! Supervision is provided from 2:45-3pm

Abracadabra, Hocus Pocus, its magic and mystery with art as the focus!  Magical Art Mystery Tour draws children in to a world of wonder, revealing unbelievable art tricks and inspiring out-of-the-box creativity.  Experiment with new and mysterious mediums and discover surprising techniques to transform familiar materials into magical masterpieces.  Sculpt clay lizards and build lizard playgrounds out of sticky magic "nuudles".  Create colorful ceramic piggy banks, whimsical Model Magic and Scratch Art designs inspired by the artist Miro.  Wave wands over t-shirts to form magical designs using fabric printing inks and stir a few unexpected items into a "fluffy goop" potion.  Discover the secret ingredient that turns pencils into paints, black lines into circus elephants, and torn paper into painted landscapes.  And so much more!  The results are totally "WOW".  And... voila... young art magicians bring home masterpieces each week.  Supervision is provided from 2:45-3pm

Get ready to "create some fun"!  Just for Fun Art-ventures lead children on an imaginary tour through the world's greatest art museums, inspiring creativity through exposure to the FUN-damentals or artists tools, techniques and art forms, many inspired by the masters.  But don't just admire these great works- decorate your home with masterpieces of your own!  Draw oil pastel flowers like O'Keefe, create colorful canvases in the style of Matisse, and design upside down and inside out Watercolor Dream Paintings inspired by Chagall. Sculpt Swirly Clay Pencil Holders, create Burlap Landscape Collages and decorate Paper Mache Boxes.  Creatively educational, whimsical and unconventional, these art-ventures welcome children into a world of artistic wonder.  Children bring home beautiful masterpieces each week, sure to transform any hoome into a gallery!  Supervision is provided from 2:45-3 pm.

Art-ventures Around the World, Grades K-4

Activities 


Art travelers go on a whirlwind tour of the world, traveling among different countries and cultures.  Create hot air balloon lanterns to take you up and away!  Each week we land somewhere in the world and create wicked cool cultural art using unique materials and artisans' techniques.  In Puerto Rico we work with clay and make wacky Vejigante masks.  We design with Mosaics in Greece, make Tribal Rain Sticks in Australia and create Maracas in Brazil, just to name a few.  Fun facts about each country and culture, geography and art history are included.  The only thing kids need to pack i their imagination!  Supervision will be provided from 2:45-3pm.

Monsters and Mermaids Fantasy Art-ventures, Grades K-4

Activities


Pay no attention to that fire-breathing dragon!  Wielding paintbrushes, brave art explorers journey into a fairytale kingdom where fairies flit through rainbow skies and zany zombies roam the streets.  Encounter fantastical creatures, both spooky and sweet, while conjuring up bedazzling art:  Decorate wicked cool witch or wizard hats and sculpt clay witches or wizards on broomsticks!  Design colorful ceramic skulls inspired by Dia De Los Muertos and paint unicorn or dragon banks.  Craft monster t-shirts and create sparkling castles on canvases.  Make hand puppet mermaids, vampires, fairies, werewolves, or any creature you can imagine.  Using some very magical potions and spells (i.e. materials and techniques), art-venturers experience painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking, stain glass, ceramics, fabric art and more.  Enchanting two and three dimensional masterpieces are brought home each week.  Fun, fantasy-filled art-ventures! Supervision is from 2:45-3 pm.
