Greenwood Center is a single-level former elementary school abutting the Connecticut state line, erected in 1965 with 20,500 total square feet of space. Over 10,000 people use Greenwood each year!

The Greenwood Center is home to the Longmeadow Parks & Recreation Department's Infant through Preschool Child Care Program, as well as the Extended Day After-School Program.

It houses the Longmeadow Council on Aging which offers a variety of programs and services. The COA has a large dining room where over 100 meals are prepared daily. The Maple Tree Gift Shop, Over 60 Club and Health Room are also located in the COA wing.

Greenwood Center has a large gymnasium that hosts a variety of events including basketball, town-wide flu clinics and Teen Center. The Community Room is used for a variety of recreational programs including dance, gymnastics, karate and music.The Greenwood Center is not available for private rentals.
