The Longmeadow Emergency Management Services organization was appointed by the Longmeadow Select Board and is led by Fire Chief Eric Madison. This team includes Town Manager- Robin Crosbie, Police Chief- Robert Danio, Health Director- Beverly Hirschhorn and DPW Director- Mike Wrabel. This team is charged with the responsibility for developing and implementing a comprehensive Emergency Management plan for the Town of Longmeadow.

This section of the town website is directed toward providing residents with information that is useful to better prepare for potential emergencies such as tornados, hurricanes, winter blizzards, floods, hazardous material spills as well as terrorism incidents such as the anthrax scare and general terror threats. Much of this information is provided through government agencies such as Federal Emergency Management Agency, Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and Department of Homeland Security Agency and well as other agencies such as the National Weather Service.

The town's Emergency Notification System may be used in the event of a local emergency. This high tech phone based system allows town officials to quickly notify all town residents (or a section of town residents) about the existence of an emergency situation.
