Excellent Customer Service is always a priority within our department and something we take great pride in however please note that during peek periods turnaround time for benefit documents submitted to the Human Resources Department may reach ten (10) business days. We always process documents in the order they are received once all necessary documentation has reached our office.
May 1st- May 31st serves as the Town of Longmeadow’s annual Open Enrollment Period for Employee and Non-Medicare Eligible Retiree benefits. Benefits include Health Insurance, Dental insurance, Life Insurance, Deferred Compensation, Accident, Disability, Cancer, and Flexible Spending Plans. The Open Enrollment Period allows employees and retirees to enroll, cancel and/or waive participation in any of the above-mentioned benefits (with exception to the Life Insurance where a medical examination may be required). Some restrictions may apply to retirees whom have had a lapse in health coverage with the Town. All Open Enrollment changes become effective on July 1st- When enrolling in benefit plans including Medical, Dental, Flex Spending and Life Insurance, you are locked in for the plan year and must experience a Federal Qualifying Event in order to terminate benefits prior to Open Enrollment.
